DUCHARME-WESTLAKE:Braden Keefe Skylar, "Kapimootatat uski". The death of Braden Ducharme-Westlake, son of George Ducharme and Rachel Westlake, occurred on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Braden was born in Brandon, Manitoba on March 19, 1993. He attended kindergarten at Meadows School until completing Grade Seven. He then attended Harrison Middle School for Grade Eight and then to Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School until present. Growing up, Braden had numerous jobs including a Community Newspaper route, working at Arby's Restaurant, Zellers and most recently at Joe Beeverz. A music fan, Braden loved spending time with family and friends "listening to music and the sounds of the day" and playing his guitar. He enjoyed sports especially rugby, going long boarding, playing video games and road trips with family. Braden is survived by his parents, George and Rachel, two brothers, Zachary and Logan and a sister, Paris, as well as best friends, Darby Essie and Jesse Genaille. Grandparents Mary (Constant) and Ralph Alexander, Charlotte and Joseph Ducharme, Helen (Janzen) and Harvey Westlake and Ted Bercier. Braden was predeceased by many grandparents, aunts, uncles, relatives and a best friend that have welcomed him home. A traditional Wake was held at the Mahkaday Ginew Memorial Centre, 205 College Avenue beginning on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. The Ceremony to Celebrate Braden's Life was held at Central United Church, 327-8th Street on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood officiating. Pallbearers were: Darby Essie, Jesse Genaille, Jared Genaille, Cody Genaille, Keiffer Genaille, Reg Constant, Jordan Guimond, Gee Genaille, Kyle Mallett, Charles Richard and Jacob Moar. Cremation followed the Ceremony. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Braden to a charity of their choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made atwww.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
