DUBOIS: André Andy Joseph Dubois of Carroll, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, Brandon on March 27, 2012. Andy was born at Ste.Rose du Lac, Manitoba on October 1, 1952. He spent his early years on a farm near Laurier, MB, moving many times due to his father working many construction jobs. Andy moved to Brandon in 1966, where he attended J. R. Reid School and Neelin High School. After completing high school, Andy was employed with Canadian Brown Steel, Behlen Wicks and was a welder with Plains Industries, Trail King Trailer Manufacturing. Andy was a co-owner of A.R.C. Stone Enterprises and Blue Hills Trailer Manufacturing. He also loved farming, especially cattle which had been his passion for the last twenty-five years. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and horseman. In 1994, he and his team won the Manitoba Team Penning Championship. His interests included playing in numerous bands as a drummer, from age sixteen to present. This included his first band, The Trybe to his last band, The Cactus Band. He played softball with the Brandon Mixed Softball League and Oldtimers. Andy was also a foster parent for Child and Family Services of Western Manitoba for twenty-five years. He was a member of the Manitoba Metis Federation and Grand Valley Local. He is survived by his wife Ann, his son Chuck and daughter, Nicole Koroluk (Kevin) and his grandchildren; Jordan and Kaley. He is also survived by his sisters: Della Rossal (Gil), Marie-Ange Baxter (Robert), Jeanne Gerry (Bob) and brothers; Ron (Brenda), Reg (Kerrina), Guy (Bev). There are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and numerous foster children whom he loved as his own. Andy was predeceased by his father, Charles Dubois and his mother, Cecile Brownridge. The Ceremony to Celebrate Andys Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Mr. Mike Waddell will officiate. Pallbearers will be: Warren Speers, RickFerguson, Ike Hiebert, Corny Hiebert, Errol Johansen, Maurice Fayant and Ernie Bruneau. Interment will follow in the Carroll Cemetery, Carroll, Manitoba.
