SENCHUK: Nick was born in The Pas on October, 28, 1930 and died in Brandon on April 29, 2012. He is survived by brother Jack and sisters Sylvia Bunn, Nell McDowell (Allan) and Marianne Johnson (John) as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Steve and Mary Senchuk, sister Verna and brother Adam. Hockey was an important part of Nicks life, he played semi-pro hockey with the Sarnia Sailors and oversees in Scotland. He also had a tryout with the Detroit Red Wings farm team. He was credited with a number of hat tricks in his career. He traveled to the West Coast and painted ships for Yarnow Ship Yards. On his return to Manitoba, he worked at various jobs in the Brandon area. Nick was faithful at keeping in touch with his family by sending regular birthday and Christmas cards. Thank you to Nicks faithful friends for their kind support. Thank you to Dr. Benade and the staff on the palliative care unit at the Assiniboine Centre for their compassionate care. A service to honor Nicks life will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joe Ball officiating. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery in The Pas with Hemauer Funeral Home on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com
