CHARTIER: Charles Gerald Joseph Chartier. On April 26, 2012 Charles peacefully passed away with his wife and extended family by his side at the golden age of 75 years young. Charlie was born on March 26, 1937 at Richer, MB. He loved music and taught himself to play the guitar, fiddle [violin], organ, mandolin and mouth organ. Whenever there was a gathering, Charlie would pull out one of his instruments and play the night away. He was talented at wood working and built many an item. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and liked to fish and hunt. He enjoyed camping and travelling. Charlie was a fine cook on the stove and the BBQ. Charlie worked with Liquid Carbonic (Prax-Air) for over 21 years. He moved to Brandon, from Wpg, when the company offered him the position of manager for the new office. He was there when the new plant was built (1980's) and ended his career in 1999 and strolled into retirement. Charlie enjoyed his family and friends immensely and liked to entertain them with music, drink, fine food, jokes and good conversations. He was predeceased by his parents Abelard and Alice (Gagnier), first wife Rita (Grouette], granddaughter, Tammy, son-in-law Brian King, second wife Linda, sisters-in-law Doris Chartier, Lucille Mackinnon and Yvonne Stuart, parents-in-law Willie and Albina Grouette, brother- in-law Scotty Stuart and good friend Doreen Dew (King). He leaves to cherish his memory daughter Wanda Chartier-King (Metro). Siblings Mona Vincen t (Delbert) and Clarence. Wife Annette. Step children Kenny Grouette, Teddy, Cheryl Champagne (Brad Caron) (Rita) and Sarah (Stan Piper) (Annette). Charlie had many grand children and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews that will remember him with love and fondness. The family would like to thank Bonnie and Emile Egert for their support and kindness and know that Charlie had a fondness in his heart for both of them. We would like to thank the staff at Rideau Park Nursing Centre for the respectful ways, the kindness and great care given to Charlie through his stay at the centre. Thank you Brockie Donovan. Your kindness and help is much appreciated.
