DESROCHER: Urben Amos Desrochers passed away peacefully on May 7th at Lorne Memorial Hospital in Swan Lake, with his son, best friend and caregiver by his side. He has gone to join his wife Therese in heaven. Left to mourn Urben’s passing are his children: Marcel, Doreen (Vern), Armand (deceased), Victor (Anne), Dennis, Brenda (Glen) and daughter in law Darlene. His Grandchildren: Corinna (Dale), Rodney (Marny), Kenny, Brent (Francine), Karen (Client), Tracy (Greg), Derek (Barb), Armand (Nicole) and Kim (Marty). His Great Grandchildren: Carly, Cody, Breanne, Brooke, Kristina, Kayla (Kerry), Kassandra, Katrina, Kensy, Tanner, Konrad, Kurtis, Chase, Hannah, Brodie and Jaden. Great Great Grandchild: Ryder. Urben was born November 28th, 1923 on a homestead near Mariapolis to Sinai and Lousie (nee Malo) Desrochers. Urben married Therese Labossiere on December 28th, 1944 at St Leon, enjoying 56 years of marriage. They began their life together on a homestead near Greenway. Where they raised their family on a mixed farm and continued to expand in agriculture. He was actively involved in his community as a board member for the Mariapolis Recreational Centre, on the board of directors for the Mariapolis Co-op, School Trustee for Greenway School and actively involved in the Greenway fair. In his younger years he enjoyed curling in Mariapolis, playing cards with friends and competing in tractor pull competitions of which many he successfully brought home awards. His real passion was in farming, he spent countless hours in his glory seeding, spraying and swathing his farm. Tending to his cattle and horses and welding at the shop. The family would like to express a sincere Thank-you to Doctor Desmond and all the staff at Lorne Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care they provided Urben our father and grandfather. Prayers will be held Thursday, May 10th at 7:00 p.m. at Willmor Chapel, Glenboro, MB. A celebration of life will take place Friday, May 11th at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Mariapolis, MB. Interment to follow in the Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery.
