HERNDON: Terry February 14, 1943 June 2, 2012. After a brief but strong and courageous battle with Cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry at Riverdale Health Services on June 2, 2012 with his family at his side. Terry was born in Winnipeg, MB. As a youth, his deep love of nature took him to Minaki, ON where he enjoyed many hours of hunting and fishing, as well as working as a fishing guide. After graduation, Terry began his career with the Canadian National Railway and it was shortly after this that he met and married the love of his life, Sharon. Terrys life proudly focused on the love of his family, friends, and many interests such as music, golf, amateur radio, and photography. He was a Charter member of the Rivers & District Lions Club, President of the Rivers Golf & Country Club for a 2 year term, a member of the Rivers Legion for over 35 years, as well as a member of the Brandon Amateur Radio Club. After a few years into their retirement, Terry and Sharon decided to leave the winters behind and travel to the warmth of Arizona, finally settling in their own vacation home in Donna, TX where many fond memories were formed. Terry is survived by his wife Sharon of 49 years, his daughter Renee (Rick), grandchildren Aaron, Kyle, Brendan and Elizabeth, sister Victoria (Vaughn) in Harrow, Ontario, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Terry was predeceased by his daughter Leslee in July 2010, his parents Victor and Theresa, in-laws John and Emma, and nephews Paul and Todd. We will never forget the miraculous love and support that Terry and his family received from the angels at the Riverdale Palliative Care Unit, and the overwhelming support from our dearest and closest friends. To everyone, we thank you for not just what you did which was wonderful, but for the warmth and caring that you put into it. Youre all very special people. We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Rev. Glenna Beauchamp for her comforting words and concern. Terry was dearly loved by his family and friends, and will be missed very much. His sense of humor and love for life will always be remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverdale Palliative Care Unit, Box 428, Rivers, MB, R0K 1X0 or a charity of ones choice. A family graveside service and celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com.
