DAVIES: On June 1, 2012, our darling mom Sheila Davies left this earth to be with her husband Tom, but not without giving her loving family six years of joy, love and support after he passed away in 2006. She was born in 1933 in London, England. After the loss of her father in the Battle of El Alemein in North Africa, Sheila, at the age of 12, along with her mom and new dad came to Canada to start their life in Carberry. Although life was tough on the farm, Mom would always say "there was a whole lotta love there." She met her life partner Tom when they were both working at Malco Electric. They were married and had four children, Maureen, Michael, Mark and Tommy. Although life raising four kids in the north end of Brandon was tough, we as children all felt happy, loved and valued. Mom was a real family woman and had that way of always making you feel special. She was kind, gentle and the most non-judgemental person you could ever meet. She could find the good in everyone, and they always responded in kind, always referring to her as a "little sweetheart". Although her health was always an issue, she kept going and appreciated all the little things most of us take for granted. She never let health stop her from caring for her family and being there for them. When Dad passed away in 2006, everyone thought she would give up on life, but as she had such a fighting spirit, this was not to be. Her health went steadily downhill, but she still had her smile, that special glow in her eyes for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and that kind word for anyone she came in contact with. We considered our Mom a hero for all her love and care she gave us when we were growing up and became adults and she passed that baton to our brother Michael, who, when our dad passed on, quit his job to take care of Mom, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until she passed away. Every want and need she had, Michael gave, and no one could have cared for their parent as he could. In our eyes he is a hero for without his care, we wouldn't have had her in our lives as long as we did. We will so miss her smile, soft cheek as we kissed her good-bye and her "See you soon". She leaves to mourn her passing, her children Maureen (Scott), Michael, Mark (Pam), Tommy and seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her husband Tom in 2006 and previously lost her mom and dad. In remembrance of Sheila, if you wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, as heart attack is what took both of our parents. The Davies and McFayden Families would liketo thank all of their friends and family for the flowers, food and kindness that was given to them during this sad time. Very special thanks to best friends Kathy and Wayne Yonda, who along with their family cooked, baked and served at the luncheon after the service. Special thanks to Vern Schneider of Memories Chapel and Pre-Planning Centre, who has been a rock.
