ROBSON: Marjorie Rosina Robson (Ellis)1923-2012, died peacefully in Pallative Care, BRHC. Marjorie was active until late May, enjoying family, friends, cards and her gardening. Marjorie started her life with parents Charles and Jessie Ellis in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where she met her love and life partner, Keith during grade twelve. Marjorie is predeceased by brothers George and Lloyd Ellis and sister Mary Horner. Marjorie enjoyed yearly visits with her younger brother Robert Ellis and was with him in Vancouver in May to celebrate his birthday. Marjorie was a WWII bride with ration stamps and a love of life. As a young mother of three, with their oldest child in Toronto Sick Children's hospital, Marjorie was a strong partner for Keith while he completed his degree in Guelph. The week their oldest son died, just days before his fifth birthday, Marjorie and Keith set out for Selkirk, Manitoba to start Brain Memorial Animal Hospital. With daily inclusion of daughters Beverley Leckie (Lea) and Bonnie Robson, the practice grew to cover land north, east and west of Selkirk, adding a dairy farm that later switched to beef as part of the artifical insemination business that served farmers and ranchers in the three prairie provivces. Keith and Marjorie sold the practice and farm to move to Brandon, Manitoba in 1967 so that they would have more time for their younger sons, Brent (Brenda) and Brad (Debbie). Keith then worked for the province and federal departments of Agriculture and Health of Animals until retirement that was spent wintering with many great friends near Edinburg, Texas. Its in Texas that Marjorie started to paint while Keith took up golf. Both loved to dance and even spent a few years enjoying square dancing. Music was a constant even during the years of study, practice and farming, often with Marjorie signing while she cooked supper accompanied by Keith at the piano or on occassion on clarinet. Marjorie was loved for her thoughtfulness and caring and is treasured by her grandchildren, Shauna (Dom), Mark (Krystal), Nelson (Joni ), Sheldon (Tasha), Graham, Glen, Blake, Bradley, and step-grandaughter Tiffany (Brandon). Marjorie delighted in being "GG" to her great grandchildren Kassidy, Hannah, Simon, Alyvia, Mason, and step-greatgrands Taylor and Isabella. Marjorie was looking forward to the arrival of another great grandson and great grandaughter in August. Marjorie touched the lives of many people with her generous spirit and loving nature, she was loved and will be missed by those that knew her. Marjorie's life will be celebrated at 4:00 pm, July 21 at Central United Church, 327 8th Street, Brandon, MB, followed by refreshments and a time to visit in the church hall. Cut flowers are happily declined in respect for Marjorie's principal of frugality. Her wish would be for you to use the funds for an act of kindness. Upon leaving the church, family and friends are invited to Marjorie's Memorial Weiner Roast at 51 Ashgrove Blvd in Brandon. Marjorie's daughter, Bev Leckie will appreciate a call or email to assist the family in their preparations. Messages may be left at 204 726-8806 or leckieb@assiniboine.net.
