MACK: It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wilfred Arthur Mack announce his passing after a courageous battle with Cancer, at the Carberry Medical Centre on August 6th, 2012 at the age of 67. Wilf was born January 1st, 1945 in Neepawa, MB. to John & Betty Mack of Harte, MB. He was raised on the homesteaded farm of his Great-Grandfather and received his education in the Montrose and Brookdale schools, moving to Carberry with his family in 1960. Wilf & Gail married on October 10th, 1964. He worked with MTS, Highways, then made his career with Natural Resouces as AWS & Foreman for 33 years, retiring in 2000. He made many good friends at Spruce Woods Park and enjoyed many of the Employees he worked with during this time. Wilf belonged and worked hard for the Turtle Mountain Flywheel Club, enjoyed many hours playing in the grease and made many good friends. He was a volunteer for the Carberry Fire Department for over 20 years. Wilf, also, was Chairman of fund raising banquets for Ducks Unlimited for some years, enjoyed this very much. A few good school friends got together and decided to place a cairn where the old Montrose School had been. They accomplished this in June 2009 and had a great time together doing this. After retiring, Wilf & Gail spent winters in Penticton, B.C., making many new friends and keep in touch with all to this day. We camped at Killarney from 1986 - 2008, enjoying many campfires and music sessions with fellow campers. He had many accomplishments in his life, but his greatest was his family and the many people he met on all his travels. Wilf leaves to mourn his loving wife Gail (Bowley), his son Brent, daughter Keri (Barry) and his 5 grandchildren, who he loved dearly, Grayden and Layne Mack, Jesse Jarvis, Mack and Jocie Brereton. Also left to chreish his memories, his mother-in-law Vi Bowley, brother and sister-in-law Ed and Donna Bowley and their family, and sister Carol Wall of Winnipeg, MB, cousins, nieces & nephews. Wilf was predeceased by his grand-mother Emma (1976), Dad (John) 1986, mother (Betty) 1992 and father-in-law Ed Bowley in 1991. A Celebration of Wilf's life will be celebrated Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Carberry Memorial Hall with Rev. MiniHo Yoo officiating. A good friend MaryElla Proven will give the euolgy. Everyone attending today, please consider yourselves Honorary Pallbearers. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carberry Health Centre, To all the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the Brandon General, Health Science Centre and Carberry Health Centre, thanks from the bottom of our hearts for all you people have done for us in the past two years.
