THORNE: Joseph Lloyd Thorne (Joe) passed away at the Yorkton Regional Health Center on December 13, 2011 at the age of 85. Joseph was born in Horod, Manitoba on June 16, 1926, son of John and Olive Thorne. He married Doreen (Dolly) Thorne in 1951. They were devoted to each other for the next 47 years and together raised five children. Their married life started in Elphinstone, where they lived until 1967, before moving to Strathclair. Joe was a mehanic and loved working on anything that had a motor. He liked helping his kids with their vehicles and enjoyed making them happy. In 1975 he moved his family to Brandon. Losing Dolly in 1998 was the hardest for Joe. Things were never the same for him. He moved to Princess Towers and lived there until his passing. He especially enjoyed Thursday night wrestling and chatting on the phone with numerous family members. He will be missed for his candor and his spice for life. We will keep his memory dear to our hearts, all children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Betty (Roy) Knott of Portage la Prairie, children Julie-Anne (Chris Bolton) children Alexandra, Kaylee. Jennifer (Norbert) Furret, Blaine Knott; Alice (Georg) Hermann of Nanaimo, B.C. and children Joey (Jennifer), Jason (Jacqueline) children Elliot, Shaylah, Nevaeh; Brian (Angela); John (Cher) Thorne, children Jeremy, Joshua, Christina (Alex) baby Sklya; Donna (Peter) Ahlbrecht of Germany children Stephen and Seanna; Roy (Michelle) Thorne, Joshua, Trisha, Melissa.
