LAVALLIE: Anne (Linski), August 4, 1924 - August 20, 2012. Anne “Auntie” Lavallie, passed away suddenly on August 20, 2012. Born in the Lawrence Municipality (north of St. Rose, MB), eldest daughter of Dora and Peter Linski, Anne was five years old when the family relocated to Brandon. She attended Central School, Brandon Collegiate and taught school for a year in Wieden, MB. She then returned home to care for the family. Shortly after, she began working at McKenzie Seeds until retirement in 1984 with 30 years of service. Crocheting, knitting, outfitting a collection of dolls, shopping, gardening, telling stories and children of all ages were a few of her life's passions. Anne was a wonderful cook and was famous for her Christmas Eve Dinner with family and friends. Good Friday became an annual Easter baking ritual with her niece Kim, as did teaching the skills of perogy making to others. In later years, Anne volunteered her time with the MTS volunteers making numerous articles that were distributed to various organizations throughout the province. She loved her flower beds, adored red roses, and basically anything pretty. When weather permitted, Anne would ‘holiday’ in her gazebo on the sunny side of the house with her coffee and crochet hook. Anne was feisty, entertaining and a good friend. She married Ben Lavallie on April 27, 1974. They travelled to Hawaii several times and to the Saint Vincent Islands. She loved her vacations and always said she was fortunate to have been able to travel to these places wishing to revisit one more time. One of Anne's greatest enjoyments in life was her nieces and nephews. When they were little she loved to tell them stories, dance and take them shopping. As adults, she shared their successes and disappointments, visits and phone calls with joy, enthusiasm and understanding. Anne is survived by her brothers Mike (Gladys Snyder), Steve (Hope), sister Pat Beath and baby sister-in-law, Gwen; nieces Brenda Linski (Neill Koensgen), Kim Leganchuck (Milt), Brandi-Lee Gruninger (Collin), Pat McLeod, Susan Holland (Perry), Janet Beath; nephews Richard Linski (Marie), Mark Linski (Heather), Todd Linski, Donald Beath (Cathy), ten great and twenty-seven great-great nieces and nephews. Anne was preceded by her parents, husband Ben, brother Bill, nephews Robbie Linski and Brett Leganchuk, niece Angela Linski, sister-in-law Joyce Linski and brother-in-law, Mac Beath. Special thanks to David Lockhart, Joanne Holder, Angel Taxi service and all of the neighbors who were so good to Anne. Youare all part of our family.
