NESTIBO:Mr. Harold Junior Nestibo of Kelowna, BC, and formerly of Goodlands, MB., was born April 7, 1929 on the home farm in Goodlands, and passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the age of 83 at the Kelowna General Hospital. As a young man, Harold attended the Church of God Bible College in Moose Jaw, SK., where he traveled in music ministry singing & playing guitar – something he enjoyed all his life. He farmed with his parents John and Sophia Nestibo until he married Audrey Tingey of Lyleton, MB., in November of 1950, and together they raised a family of seven. He went on to develop a farm operation with four of his sons: (Gary, Bryan, Delory & Randy) in the Goodlands – Deloraine – Waskada area. He moved to Brandon, MB., in 1980 and to Kelowna in October of 1989. Audrey passed away in April of 1998 and he married Iona Weiler of Kelowna in October of 1999. Harold was a hard working young father, but took time to travel, a joy he probably inherited from his parents who were snowbirds. He took his wife & family on many memorable winter & summer vacations. He got a private pilot's license at age 47 and kept his plane on the farm, his CB handle was the "Happy Pappy." He will be remembered for his work ethic, strong faith, generosity & desire to help others. His love of God & Christian ministry was evident by the mission trips he went on, ministries he supported and “Peter's Place” ministry center he founded in Brandon, MB. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Iona; three sisters, Evelyn Cavers, Bernice Thompson and Francis (Howard) Edwards; sisters and brothers-in-law: Margaret Nestibo, Catherine Nestibo, Marjorie (Gary) McMurdo, Wayne (Gloria) Tingey, and Garnet Tingey. His memory lives on through his family of seven: Gary (Lorna), Bryan (Judy), Delory (Jan), Daryl (Brenda), Randy (Noreen), Gilbert (Alexandra), and Nadine (Dan) Murphy.
