GAMBLE: Lexie Edwina (nee Glover), beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, age 87 years. Lexie was born to Gladys and Edwin in Glenavon, Saskatchewan, where she grew up on the family farm. She moved to Winnipeg briefly for employment and met her husband Don. They settled in Brandon and were blessed with, and raised four children there. Grandchildren and great grandchildren followed and were the love and focus of her life. Even with busy family life, "Grandy" still found time for many activities and passions. Volunteer work was very important to her as was being an active member of the Knox United Church family. Membership with the Naomi Rebekah Lodge was true to her heart as were the many friendships she developed over the years. She had many talents. She was a great seamstress and very artistic, leaving behind many beautiful paintings. She enjoyed many activities like bowling and clogging, but her true passions were golf and bridge. She will forever be remembered for her quick, caring and strong spirit. She will sadly be missed by her husband Don of 60 years; son Bob of Victoria; daughters Lisa (Blair) Purvis; Rhea Webb; and son-in-law Larry Rankin of Killarney; grandchildren Jamie Rankin (Jodie) of Red Deer, AB; Shayne Rankin (Rachel) of Winnipeg; Tara Purvis; Nicole Gero (Mike); Taylor, Danielle and Carter Webb; and sister-in-law Norma Burnby of Winnipeg.
