CULLEN: Passed away at the Wawanesa Health Centre on Friday December 21, 2012 at the age of 101 years, Gertrude Amanda “Gert” Cullen (nee Thornborough), of Wawanesa, MB. Gert leaves to mourn her passing her four children Jim (Verna) of Wawanesa, daughter Jeanette Jefferies of Glenboro, Walter (Wendy) of Treesbank MB, Wallace (Eileen) of Edmonton, AB, daughter-in-law Carol Cullen of Glenboro, 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, sister-in-law Laura Bednorski of Drumheller, AB, as well as numerous extended relatives. Gert was predeceased by her husband Lewis (1982), son Morley (2001) and son- in-law Gordon Jefferies (2006); also by parents Henry and Harriet Thornborough, brothers, Len (Mattie), Fred (Emma), John (Ellen), Ernie (Sally) and Bert and by sisters Elva (Vince) Hamilton, May (Gerry) Hoffberg and Alice (Ken) Wiggett. Funeral services will be held on Friday January 4, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Wawanesa United Church with Rev. Harvey Huron officiating. Interment will take place in the Millford Cemetery.
