LOWE: Robert Bob Lowe of Brandon, Manitoba, passed away at the Brandon General Hospital on Sunday, January 6, 2013. Bob was born on September 18, 1921 and grew up in the small district of Springbrook, north of Austin. He was the third child of George & Greta Lowe. As a young man Bob worked on various farms in the district before he enlisted in the RCAF and served overseas. Upon returning he spent many years working with heavy road equipment in northern Canada. He retired in BC for a while then moved to Austin, then Brandon where he was a resident of Dinsdale PCH. Bob is survived by sisters; Raebelle, Pearl, Rosemary and Gail (Gary White), brothers; Roger (Norma), Jim (Shirley) and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends in all communities in which he lived. Bob was predeceased by his mother Greta, father George, his eldest sister Beth (George Anderson), his brothers; Ted (Frances), Glen, brothers-in-law Allan Lounsbury and Bill Hulme. Funeral service will take place in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Austin Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Allen Tait, Robin Chant, Rick Lounsbury, Paul Lowe, Gilbert Lowe and Gerald Freeborn. Donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3A 1P6 or to Dinsdale Personal Care Home, 510 6th St, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 3N9 or to a charity of your choice.
