KAUK: With profound sadness we announce the untimely passing of Rick Kauk on Saturday, January 5th, 2013. He will be remembered by his loving wife, Pat with whom he shared 33 short years, his children Richelle, Karissa (Scott) Beattie, Derrick (Baylee), granddaughter Allie Olivia Beattie, brothers Doug (Barb) and sons Kevin and Bryan, Jim (Shirley) and children Jill (Derrick) Stewart and Marty, sisters- in-law, Jane (Greg) Brown and children Tammy and Pamela, Jo-Anne (Brian) Jardine and children Sophie and Graham, and Barry Burke’s daughter Marla (Gord) Bloudoff and children Ashley and Braden and son Shawn Burke as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Rick was predeceased by his father George in 1991, mother Adeline in 2011 and his dear friend and brother-in-law Barry Burke in 2002. Rick was born in Winnipeg on May 14, 1951. At the age of 15, his Dad was transferred to Brandon, Manitoba with the CN Railway. Rick attended Vincent Massey high school where he loved playing football and basketball; Rick also enjoyed playing hockey and baseball. Rick had many friends in school and was fortunate to have maintained some of those friendships over the years. Upon graduation he worked with his Dad at CN Railway as an engine watchmen but eventually moved onto retail sales with Woolco in Brandon and Winnipeg. His successful career as a business forms salesperson began with Moore Business Forms when he moved to Saskatoon in August 1974. He also worked at Wolfe Brothers Carpet before becoming the Manager at Systems Business Forms (later called Datamark Business Forms), where he was presently employed for over 25 years. Rick and Pat began dating in February 1976, and were married on June 2, 1979. Rick was a devoted husband, loving father and thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with his family through various activities and countless family vacations. Rick completed a Business Admin Certificate at the U of S in 1996. He was also an active member of the Saskatoon Executive Club for many years, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Rick also served at Holy Cross on the church board in various positions. Most people knew Rick’s passion was cars, and he could be found most Saturdays at the ReVolv store tinkering on cars with his buddies. Rick lived for “the deal”, thus spending countless hours on kijiji, literally to the bitter end. Rick and Pat loved their special time away in Mexico with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice. The funeral service for Rick Kauk, will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1405 31st Street West (off Avenue P), Saskatoon, SK on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 1:30p.m. with Pastor James Vosper officiating.
