LEHMAN: Leonard Wilfred beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather died peacefully on November 29, 2012 at Deloraine Health Centre surrounded by family. Len was born in Grenfell, Saskatchewan March 19, 1935 to Martha and Leopold Lehman who had earlier immigrated from Poland to make a better life for their family. This is where Len developed a lasting, strong work ethic. At a young age he worked for different area farmers and then went to work in the oil patch. While working on the oil rigs around Hartney, he met and married Merle Jasper. They were blessed with three sons, Terry, Roy, and Alan. Len was predeceased by his son Roy, his parents, sister Ella, brother Dennis and his in-laws Harriet and Gordon Jasper. He is survived by his wife Merle, sons Terry (Janet), Alan (Pam), grandchildren Melissa (Murray), Ryan, Jacob, Greg (Sam), Tyson (Sarah), Zane (Annie), Josie (Eric), great-grandchildren Bella, La Kai, Ryder, Kinsley, brothers Arnold, Gus, Ron (Irene), sister Marlene (Keith). Brothers-in -law Noel (Verda), Bill (Evelyn), sister-in-law Shirley (Reg) and many nieces and nephews. Len loved the outdoors both summer and winter whether it be hunting, fishing, trapping, cutting firewood, gardening, swathing or doing field work for a farmer friend. He never lost his love for the farm. He always enjoyed whatever he was doing. Even when life was difficult, because of declining health, and its many challenges, he had made a decision to enjoy life one day at a time. One of the greatest blessings in his life were the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He so enjoyed each and every one of them and followed many of their sports activities, mainly hockey and baseball. Funeral service took place December 3, 2012 from Hartney Centennial Hall with Pastor Linda Tribble and Rev. Barb Alston officiating. Private interment Riverside Cemetery. Active pallbearers were all grandsons, Ryan Lehman, Jacob Lehman, Greg Lehman, Tyson Lehman, Zane Lehman, Murray Smith. All in attendance were considered honorary pallbearers. We all have our own precious memories and we can have peace knowing Len is now at rest!!!
