ZIMMERMAN: Paul Peter Zimmerman of Brandon, Manitoba passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013. He was a resident of Dinsdale Personal Care Home for the last year of his life. Paul was born in Marco, Manitoba, near Rossburn in 1918. He attended a small country school and lived and worked on his parents farm until he went to serve in the army for three and a half years in the Second World War. Upon his discharge he met and married his wife Phyllis. They farmed at Birtle, Manitoba for many years. Paul and Phyllis moved to Brandon where Paul worked for the City of Brandon until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin at Clear Lake with his family. He also volunteered many services for Seniors for Seniors in Brandon. Paul is survived by his wife Phyllis; children Tillie Lund (Bob), Leslie, and David (Caroline); grandchildren Mark and Darren Lund, Leigha Bauer (Mark), Devon and Chad Zimmerman; great grandchildren Taylor and Kaleigh; sister Helen Budz as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary Zimmerman; sisters Jean Hrankowski, Nellie Koski, Cora McCasin; brothers Joe, John and Mike. Paul will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A family graveside service took place in the Veterans Section at the Brandon Cemetery on Monday, January 21, 2013.
