BROWN: Brian Logan Goodfellow Brown of Carberry, son of Abie and Delma Brown born May 16, 1946 passed away in the early hours of Feb 8, 2013. That morning I lost my best friend and partner of over 41 years, our children and grandchildren lost a loving parent and grandfather who loved them very much and enjoyed watching them grow. Many family members and friends came to show their support for their brother, brother-in-law, uncle and valued friend. We had a memorable afternoon enjoying Mom's homemade apple pie and reminiscing with loved ones, our pie party was the talk of the 4th floor of Brandon General Hospital that day. Brian was a favorite with the nurses with his ready laugh and bright blue eyes. They often said that it was nice to have a patient so appreciative of their care, even if it was 4 in the morning. Our community has also lost a talented neighbour, with a fully stocked shop, who was always able to help out with many repairs. Usually followed up with a few good stories and laughs over coffee. Brian was a farmer, a fabricator of machinery, a carpenter, a mechanic; as a matter of fact there wasn't much he couldn't do. Brian loved spending his winters in Texas with friends, and his occasional evenings out fishing with friends and family. Because of Brians love of music and good ear, he was able to play a number of instruments, including the button accordion. He leaves to morn his loving wife, children, grandchildren, brother, sisters, nieces, nephews and their families, who will forever remember his sense of humor and loving nature. A gathering to celebrate Brian's life will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 153, Carberry, Manitoba. Donations in Brian's memory may be made to the Carberry Ag Society. Seasons Funeral Chapel in OakBank, MB in care of arrangements 204-444-5444.
