EISLER: Nellie Eisler passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Souris Personal Care Home at the age of 97. Nellie was born November 10, 1915, fourth child of Nick and Pearl Baduik. She married John Eisler December 2, 1936 and together they raised four daughters. John and Nellie farmed in the Lily District and retired to Souris in 1957. Nellie was a caregiver all her life, caring for John's parents and then John until his passing in 1973. Nellie loved to garden, quilt, sew and make special meals for her grandchildren. Her door was always open when any of her family needed her help. She belonged to the UCW Unit #1, Rebeccas, WI, and spent many hours at the Thrift Shop. Nellie was predeceased by her parents, husband John, daughter Margaret Eisler, son-in-law Fred Kruk, two brothers and three sisters. Mom leaves to mourn three daughters, Elsie Kruk, Alice (Walter) Hale and Teenie (Mickey) Carlisle, eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and two great great granddaughters. Funeral service was held at Souris St. Paul's United Church with Reverend Wendy Rankin officiating. Pallbearers were Paul Kruk, Darryl Berry, Warren Hale, Jeremy Hale, Darrel Carlisle and Darcy Carlisle. Interment followed in Souris & Glenwood Cemetery. Arrangements were with Kowalchuk's Funeral Home, Souris, Manitoba.
