BRERETON: The family of George Brereton sadly announces his passing at the Assiniboine Centre, Palliative Care, on Saturday, April 13, 2013, thirty five days short of his 90th birthday. George was born to George and Ada Brereton on May 18, 1923 in Brandon and spent his entire life here. He started working at CP Rail after high school and retired from there at age 60. Many happy years of retirement were spent with the love of his life, his late wife Eloise. Together they spent fun-filled winters in Texas and summers at Clear Lake. George was always a Mister Fix-It and spent countless hours helping his family fix everything and anything-and if it couldn't be fixed we would be guided down a new path. George and Eloise enjoyed many years in their condo at Whiterock Place and later on they moved into Victoria Landing. George was predeceased by his parents George and Ada; hisbrother Jim and his beloved wife Eloise. Left to cherish his memory are his only daughter Janice (Butch) Bradley; his beloved grandson Scott (Chrissy) Bradley; two precious great grandsons Sawyer and Silas Bradley; sister-in-law Helen Brereton; nieces Judy Pilling and Marion (Ed) Mazer and their families and several nieces and nephews on Eloise's side of the family. As per George's wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. George's cremated remains will be placed in the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium with his beloved Eloise. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those so wishing can raise their glasses and toast George and a life well lived! Love you Pa. Rest in Peace.
