DRAPER: Marlene Margaret Draper (nee Marsh) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Hamiota District Health Centre, Hamiota, MB on April 29, 2013 after a fun filled life. She is survived by her loving husband Norman of 50 years; her children: Ron (Candace) of Flin Flon, and Rhonda and grandchildren Cole and Nash of Brandon. She is also survived by 5 sisters, Hazel Wood of Birtle, MB, Norma (Andy) Bott of Grand Forks, BC, Sharon (Terry) Robertson of Sandy Lake, MB, Judy (Orvil) Hertlien of Nakups, BC, Karen (Bill) Dummett Edgewood, BC and 2 brothers Ken (Fran) Marsh of Fort St. John, BC and Keith (Marcy) Marsh of Dawson Creek, BC and several nieces and nephews. Marlene was born March 29, 1944 in Esterhazy, SK. After marrying Norman she lived on a dairy farm just north of Harding, MB for 25 years.  She was a hair dresser by trade and had a shop in Kenton for many years and ended that time of her life after moving her business home for several years. Marlene and Norman sold the farm 25 years ago and moved to an acreage just south of Hamiota. She continued to do hair from home and later took up guitar in an old time band that Norman was in. They got two dogs, Cloe and Digger that became her zest for life until her fight with liver cancer took her from us. Thanks to all the staff at the Hamiota Health Centre for their wonderful care in her final days. A service to celebrate Marlene’s life will be held at Campbell Funeral Chapel, Hamiota, MB on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 2:00 pm with interment following in the Hamiota Cemetery. A time of fellowship and refreshment will take place at Chumah Hall, Hamiota United Church following the interment.
