DE ROO: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Laurie, on May 28, 2013. Remembered lovingly by his wife of thirty-eight years, Kathy, and children Andrea (Amanda), Aaron (Bryanne) and Justin (Aynsley). He is survived by his mother, Mary De Roo (nee Deruyck) and siblings Maureen Robinson, Rick (Shannon), Terry (Nancy) and Ken (Julie), mother-in-law, Kay Mosiuk, brothers-in-law, Mike (Sharon) Mosiuk, Pat (Sheila) Mosiuk, sisters-in-law Sandra (Denis) Lesage and Kristine (Brian) Carter. Laurie was predeceased by his father, Morris, brother, Dennis, sister-in-law, Yvonne (nee Belot), brother -in-law, Bill Robinson and father-in-law, Mike Mosiuk. Lauries first priority was always to his family and friends. In his youth, he was a gifted hockey player and kept his passion for the sport throughout his life. He loved his dogs, music, photography and was an avid golfer. Laurie worked in a lab at Simplot Chemicals, started his own plumbing and heating business, and later worked with Manitoba Government Services. Cremation will take place with Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church, 327-4th Street, on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Kevin Smith as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Laurie may be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200-17th Street East, Brandon, MB, R7A 7M6.
