HENRY: It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Annie Henry (nee Prokopchuk), aged 98 years old, on Saturday morning, July 20, 2013, at Valleyview Personal Care Center in Brandon Manitoba. Born to a family of 10 siblings, Annie is survived by her daughter Lillian Heminger, two grandchildren (Bev Collinson (Charles Sinclair) and Bill Diehl-Jones (Debra Fraser), 6 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters (Emily Kuzik and Mary Bocker), two sisters-in-law (Nellie Prokopchuk and Sadie Prokopchuk), and many nephews and nieces. Annie was born in Sandy Lake Manitoba on April 24, 1915 and married Lance Henry in 1934. Lance and Annie lived in many parts of Canada and in the United States, finally settling in Brandon. Never afraid of hard work, Annie held a wide variety of jobs, including lumber camp cook, prison matron, chamber maid and cookie factory worker. Annie was an accomplished seamstress and blessed many people with gifts of her handiwork. She was often described as feisty, yet kind-hearted. In keeping with Annies wishes there will be no funeral service. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Annies family thanks Dr. Mary Egan and the staff of Valleyview PCH for their years of care and for their many kindness to Annie.
