JARDINE: On June 22, 2013, Arleen Babs Babbette Jardine (nee Landin) passed away, at the age of 70. Arleen is survived by her husband Tom Tiny; sons Darryl (Monika), Scott (Lili) and Rodney (Carrie); grandchildren Thomas, Kathleen, Gabriel, Dylan and Bauer. Arleen was predeceased by her parents, Elsie and George Landin. Arleen had been a volunteer with Boy Scouts of Canada for 20 years, retiring in 1998, as Shilo Scouting celebrated their 50th Anniversary. She was a hard worker, who had stayed home to raise her children and keep the home fires burning, while Tom was away so much during the years in the military. Arleen had been a volunteer with the Figure Skating Club and Minor Hockey in Baden Soellingen, Germany, as well as Shilo Minor Hockey as scorekeeper, and the Jardine Van, known as the hockey and scouting taxi with Arleen behind the wheel constantly on the go, even to a few baseball games. Arleen was able to receive much of her scouting training at Canada House in Switzerland during one of Toms tours in Germany. Eventually, Arleen went back to work as a PMO, cleaning coordinator for four and a half years then, as secretary at Shilo Cablevision for three and a half years, then on to Midwest Foods/Carnation Foods in Carberry. Arleen and Toms home was always open to all. Many of their sons friends spent the night, ate at their table or spent the evenings watching TV or movies. There was always room. Arleen was a grandma to many small children in the confines of military life, also a second mum to many. Arleen will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. Family and friends are invited to share their memories at a reception to take place in her honour on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Sprucewoods Community Hall in Sprucewoods, MB. A graveside service will take place at the Rennie Cemetery, Rennie, MB at a later date. Donations in memory of Arleen may be made to the BRHC Foundation for Brandon RHA Cancer Services, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements with Memories Chapel &Pre-Planning Centre, 204-727-0330.
