NOSTEDT: Sheldon Nostedt, 61, passed away on Sunday July 28, 2013 at his home in Brandon, Manitoba. He was born on August 1, 1951 in Carberry, Manitoba to Jack and Lyla (Smith) Nostedt. Sheldon grew up in Treherne Manitoba. He graduated from Treherne Collegiate. After high school he attended the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg where he received a degree in Commerce. He began work as an engraver at his parents’ gift shop in Treherne. He was a very proud and active member of the Treherne Fire Dept. and ambulance service for 20 years. In 1981 he started another family business, Nostedt’s Pianos & Organs in Brandon, which operated for 10 years. In 1990 he moved to Falcon Lake where he managed the ambulance service for 2 years, followed by a move to Red Lake Ontario as the EMS manager. In 1994 Sheldon moved to Brandon to be near his sons. He began his most beloved career at Murray Chevrolet Brandon in 2001 where he continued working for the following 12 years up until his passing. Sheldon was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Lyla Nostedt. Sheldon is survived by his sons John, Jordan, and Sterling Nostedt. Sheldon’s sons were his world. He took great pride in everything they did and made it a priority to attend all of their games. He was, and always will be, their number one fan. Sheldon was radiant with positivity and possessed an infectious sense of humour felt by everyone around him. He was a loving and caring father and will be forever missed.
