DENNIS: Vera Muriel Dennis, beloved wife of the late Robert A. “Rob” Dennis passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home. Muriel was born in Alexander, Manitoba on April 28, 1927. At an early age the family moved to Dixonville, Alberta until 1937 when they moved back to Alexander and then to the Experimental Farm. Muriel and Rob were married on May 24, 1947. Muriel was working at the Brandon General Hospital in the housekeeping department when she and Rob retired. Muriel was predeceased by her parents; brother Victor and daughter Joan (fiancé Murray Chapman), brothers-in-law Jack Dennis, George MacDearmid, sisters-in-law Georgina (Bill) Scribner, Catherine Dennis. She will be greatly missed by her son Ron (Mary) of Newmarket, Ontario, Jim of Brandon, Marion (John) Calhoun of Calgary, Alberta; grandchildren, Pamela (Steve) Strong, Michael Dennis, Jesse (Jessica) Presiloski; great grandchildren Mark Strong and Jordonna Presiloski; sister Luella MacDearmid; sister-in-law Audrey Dennis as well as many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery on Saturday, September 7, 2013 (TODAY) at 1:00 pm. Rev. Canon Jim Brown will officiate.
