CONLEY: Mary Evelyne Conley (nee Dixon) passed away September 3, 2013 in Brandon. Born November 30, 1919, the eldest of ten children, Evelyne was raised in Carievale, Saskatchewan where she attended school and worked on various farms. Receiving her nurses training in Brandon and graduating in 1943 as a Registered Nurse, she (Dix) worked as a Registered Nurse at Brandon General Hospital. Evelyne then moved to Toronto where she married her husband and continued her nursing career. She returned to Brandon to raise her family and work as a private nurse at Brandon General Hospital. Evelyne retired from Fairview Home in 1971 to care for her son for four years until he moved to Fairview Home where she visited him every day until his passing in 1980. Evelyne learned how to drive and got her drivers license at the age of 54. She took on the task of keeping the Multiple Sclerosis Society from folding. Twelve happy and comfortable years were lived at Hobbs Manor where she enjoyed volunteering in the kitchen. She loved the years she was able to travel. Predeceased by her husband Murray Ross Conley and son Bradley Dixon Conley, Evelyne leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Judy (Joe) Pegoski and Sharon McGill; grandchildren Kelly Lamport (John) and Stephen Pegoski, Trevor McGill (Tanya), Alisa Dunits (Derek) and Jennifer Joss (Derek); great grandchildren Cale Lamport, Millie, Henry and John McGill, Laney and Burke Dunits and Mason Joss. Funeral Service took place at Memories Chapel on Monday, September 9, 2013. Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood officiated. Interment followed at Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
