GILLESPIE: Robert (Bob) Edwin Gillespie was born in Glenboro, Manitoba on July 1, 1946 and passed away peacefully at the Assiniboine Centre on September 30, 2013. Bob grew up in Stockton, Manitoba, where he worked on the farm. He married Gail Thornborough, of Glenboro, on April 13, 1968. He would later move to Brandon where his employment included Dyck's Transfer, The Brandon Sun and Murray Chevrolet Old's. Bob enjoyed sports in his life including baseball and curling. Bob is survived by his wife, Gail and sons Paul (Stacey) and Michael (Karen.) He took great pride in spending time with his grandson Matthew and granddaughter Emily. Bob is also survived by his sister Joyce Cullen, brother-in-law Don Gowanlock, brother-in-law Bob (Kathy) Thornborough, sister-in-law Dorothy (Rick) Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. Per Bob's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or to a charity of choice. Our dad...He taught his sons and then his grandson how to throw a ball.Our dad...If something went wrong, would say "that's a minor detail". Our dad... He did not care to travel, but when it was time for someone to move, he loaded up the truck with no complaints. Our dad...Showed us how to be a team player.Our dad...We could go on and on.
