GEMMELL: Jean (Jeannie) January 6th, 1942 - September 29th, 2013. It is with great sadness that Jean passed away on Sunday, September 29th, 2013 surrounded by her family, at home. Mom was predeceased by her mother Jessie, father Andrew, brother James, three sisters Agnes, Margaret and her closest sister, Ella Gowans and her husband Ged Gowans. It gives us peace to know they will be together again. Mom emigrated from Scotland to join her sister, Ella, and brother- in-law Ged in Canada in 1967. She soon found a job, fell in love and began a family. Mom worked incredibly hard night and day, to provide a good life for her family. She will be forever loved by her husband, Don. They had 43 years of love, laughter and unforgettable memories. Her daughters, Tanis Kreller and Kerry Hemstad will forever hold her in their hearts. Mom was our biggest fan, greatest supporter and loved us more than anything in the world. She loved our husbands Mike Kreller and Scott Hemstad. Not only did they care for her in her last days, she will be at peace knowing that Mike and Scott will continue to take care of her daughters. Mom’s grandchildren will miss her immensely. Delton, Clayton and Nathan Kreller are her pride and joy. They brought their granny years of giggles, love and memories to last a lifetime. Mom also loved her “grand- doggies” Lola and Mabel, Kerry and Scott’s English Mastiffs. Their licks and warm hugs comforted her in her last days. Mom will also be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews and their families. Anne Storrie (Dundee, Scotland), Jean Langston, Margaret MacDearmid, and Alan and Rob Gowans. Mom was a huge part of their lives and loved them like her own children. She is at peace now, and we will feel her shine down from the brightest star. We love you more than you will ever know, and more than that, we still feel your love for us, now and forever.A private family celebration of Jean’s life will take place. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 8 - 940 Princess Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 0P6 or to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation for BRHA Cancer Services, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 3 - 824 - 18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 5B7.
