Bob was born February 15, 1932, one of seven children born to Lawrence & Fanny Berry of Cromer, MB. He was schooled in Cromer and Woodnorth. Upon leaving school, the tractor was waiting for him. He continued farming for over 50 years. During that time, he met and fell in love with Roberta Sholdice of Dauphin. They married in 1957 and together they raised 4 children. During these years Bob played and coached hockey, curled, played baseball and was very active in his community & church, serving on various boards and committees. In his spare time, he could be found at the rink flooding the ice, or driving a car load of kids to a hockey game. Roberta passed away in 1991 and as often in life, when one door closes, another opens. Bob was fortunate enough to find love again when he met Janet Chetyrbok of Winnipeg. They married in 1997 and began a new chapter in his life. Although he made an easy transition to city life, his heart remained in Cromer and the farming community. Bob was a loving man whose generosity extended beyond his own family. Although foremost a farmer, he had a wide range of interests from curling and golf, to theatre, dominos, jigsaw puzzles. He also had a keen interest in politics, history and pride in his Irish roots. His greatest joy was his family and he took great interest in their achievements. Bob faced lifes challenges with a can do attitude. He had a deep and abiding faith in God and was active in the church. He was known to arrive at services early to visit and loved to sing the old hymns. Bobs faith didnt stay at church he lived it. Funeral services were held in Winnipeg and Virden, with interment in Virden cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand
