KRUEGER: John Frank Krueger, age 85 years, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, December 22, 2013. John is survived by Anne, his loving wife and best friend of 55 years; daughters Sharon, Karen, Debbie (Ward) Harris, Laura (Andy) Rogalsky; his four grandchildren Michael and Nikki Harris and Stefan and Derrick Rogalsky. John is also survived by his brother Jake (Kaye), sister Marianne (Ron) Doerr and sister-in-law Margaret (brother Frank deceased) and their families. Dad was born on October 24, 1928 and grew up on a farm, being interested in all the different aspects of farm life. Next to God, and Mom, farming was the love of his life. After retiring to the city trying to farm that small bit of a garden was something he just couldnt get used to. However, he rose to the challenge, and they soon enjoyed the fresh vegetables and fruit even gooseberries. He however became an expert and constant assistant in the kitchen. It was a treat to see Dad and Mom cooking, baking, canning whatever was going on. Were still enjoying those dills, and cookies he put jam between. They were also able to do more travelling, visiting people and places. Dad was very proud of his little house on the prairie as he called their travel van. They could have a cottage at every lake they went to and enjoyed it tremendously. What fun it was for the grandchildren to sleep in the van with them when they came to visit us! Then came the Hawaiian winters. What a special time for them, meeting many precious people who are friends to this day. Dad was a man of sincere honesty and integrity. He tried his best to be fair in each and every deal, business or otherwise. He was also very concerned about helping those in need. So when MCC began what is now known as Canadian Foodgrains Bank, it was a great thrill to be able to take a load of grain to the elevator every year. Donating to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank became his favourite charity. We, the family, wish to thank all those who donated to it in his memory. A Celebration of Johns Life took place at Richmond Park Mennonite Brethren Church, on Saturday, December 28, 2013. Rev. Lawrence Warkentin, Rev.
