HAIGH: John Edward Haigh passed away peacefully at Hillcrest Place on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the age of 88 years. John was born in Grandview, Manitoba on November 9, 1925. In 1949, he married Irene Ralph and together they farmed in the Pleasant Valley district just outside of Grandview. In 1973, John and Irene moved to Dauphin and later to Brandon where John was employed with Manitoba Hydro until his retirement in June 1990. An active gardener, he enjoyed his vegetable gardens and taking loving care of his flowers and houseplants. John and Irene enjoyed travelling including many trips to England as well as various places in Canada and the USA. Surviving are: his daughter Dorothy (Rene); sons Ralph (Cathy) and Glen (Anita) as well as grandsons Grant and Scott. He is also survived by his brother James. John was predeceased by his wife Irene and his parents. Cremation has taken place. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North, on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Fr. Chad McCharles will officiate.
