CLARKE: Elizabeth S. (Rudy) It is with deep sadness that we announce that on March 22, 2014 Ruby peacefully passed away at the age of 101. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Marlene (Ted) Trelka, sons Leroy (Sophie) and Wayne (Arlene) Clarke, grandchildren Terry (Heather), Bobby (Alissa) Trelka, Jeremy (Nicole), Cameron (Cecilia), Brian (Kim) Clarke, great-grandchildren, Teren and Charlie Trelka, Mackenzie, Jordan, Abby, Grayson, Theia, Shima, Max, Chloe and Liam Clarke. Ruby was predeceased by her husband Joe (1962) and her parents Walter and Ellen Bartlett and brother Norman and his wife Elsie. Ruby was born in Hargrave, Manitoba. Ruby and Joe farmed in Virden and Hargrave area before moving to Winnipeg in 1943. Mother worked part time for Max Graham and Mr. Rogers at the grocery store until Dad's passing. She worked at the Hudson Bay Store for a short period and Hosegood's Grocery Store for 11 years and Central Park Lodge for 6 years until her retirement. She made everyone in her life feel like they were special and supported them with love, encouragement and generosity She was famous for keeping in touch with family and friends. Mother was a very caring person and looked after her mother-in-law, family friend Charlie Gatehouse and her father until their passing. A special thanks to Bev Gustys, Joan and Ian Flatt, Ken and Audrey McTaggart and everybody else for making mom's life enjoyable. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A graveside interment will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
