BLAIR: It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Herbert Lawrence Murray Blair on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Lawrence was born October 24, 1947 in Brandon to Bert and Pearl (Hall) Blair. His dads career with the railroad took them to many small communities across Southern Manitoba. Some of his favorite memories were from his years spent in Goodlands. In his early twenties Lawrence took a job with Inco and moved to Thompson. During his time there he met and married his first wife Gail and they would go on to have two sons and a daughter. While employed with Inco Lawrence entered the apprenticeship and earned his Millwright ticket. That Millwright ticket would take him all over the Western provinces to various job sites in various industries; Sask Power in Estevan SK being his favorite. His family has many fond memories of all the summers spent in Estevan. In the mid-seventies Lawrence moved to Hudson Bay, SK where he would meet and eventually marry the love of his life, Bonnie. Together they would go on to also have a daughter and two sons. During the eighties Lawrence and Bonnie would make their final move to Killarney where they would build a beautiful life and make many memories. Lawrence loved the countless hours he spent on the front street over the years solving the problems of the world with his neighbours. When he wasnt chatting on the front street Lawrence loved to fish, hunt and just be outside; a love he would pass onto his children and in the later years his grandchildren. Lawrences life was an adventure from start to finish, no dirt road went untraveled, no idea too crazy, if you could draw it he could build it, if it was broke he could fix it. He will be forever missed by his wife Bonnie; his children Rusty, David, Nikki, Stacey (Nick), Keith (Trizzan) and Derek (Laura), his grandchildren Alexander, Abilynn, Ericka, Kate-Lyn, Ava & Jackson; his sisters Donna Legge (Gordon) and Jo-Anne Edwards (Dwight) and many extended family members including his sister in law Myrna Genereux (Pete) and nieces and nephews. In accordance with Lawrences wishes a private graveside was held at the Killarney Cemetery. Donations in memory of Lawrence may be made to the Tri Lake Health Centre Palliative Care Fund; Box 5000 Killarney, Manitoba R0K1G0, to the Killarney Parent Advisory Council (for new school playground) Box 815 Killarney, Manitoba R0K 1G0, to the Manitoba Wildlife Federation; 70 Stevenson RD St. James, MB, R3H 0W7.Messages of condolence may be made online at www.wheatlandfs.com.Wheatland Funeral Service(204) 523-7791 www.wheatlandfs.com
