HOLM: Victor Alan Holm passed away suddenly 28th of April 2013 in Virden, Manitoba. Can it be a year? Victor was born at the Arborg Hospital on the 3rd of September 1951. Second son of Albert and Jeannette Holm, brother of David and eventually brother of Leonard. The family left the farm in Vidir during 1955, spending one year in Stockton, then on to Brandon. This is where Victor spent his childhood and began his adult life. Victor was very sports minded, playing both hockey and baseball. He decided to follow his maternal Grandfather's footsteps as a plumber. He graduated from A.C.C. Pre-apprentice Program in Plumbing. He then went on to Winnipeg and then to Calgary to finish his apprenticeship. This is where he became interested in the Gas/Oil service industry. He eventually started his own inspection/construction company, where he became the well respected "go to guy" for the Gas/Oil companies. Victor travelled the world looking after many projects, Finally working in Southwestern Manitoba as the construction superintendent for Tundra Energy while living in Virden. Victor had three children, Jennifer Lynn, Meagan, Benjamin and one grandchild Leigha. Victor was predeceased by his father; Albert Victor George Holm 1997; his Amma and Afi Fanny and Ludvik Holm (1956); his grandparents in England, Frances Taylor (1969), Wilfred Henry Taylor (1976). Those who knew "Vic" well, knew a man who loved and cared deeply. Left to fondly remember Victor are his spouse Joyce McKay, his mother Jeannette Alexandra Holm, brothers David John Holm and Leonard Paul Holm plus countless friends from his busy life. Reverend Shannon McCarthy presided over the service held at Central United Church May 8th, 2013.
