LAMONT: Donna (Donelda) Aileen Lamont (nee Jackson). Donna was born February 16th, 1922 the oldest of 4 children to Thomas and Agnes Jackson of the Inglis District, R. M. of Boulton. She grew up on the farm in Boulton Municipality, Inglis area. She attended Boulton School then continued on to high school in Russell, Manitoba. She took her Nurse training at the Misercordia Hospital in Winnipeg, graduated as a registered nurse and continued to work there until she married.On Oct 11th, 1946 she married Hugh Lamont of the Minto/Margaret Area, and raised their 2 sons on the Lamont Farm there. Donna loved horticulture, on the farm, she had a greenhouse, sold vegetables and flowers. Moving to Killarney, mom showed her talents in the landscaping of their yard which she enjoyed and it was home for over 50 years. She enjoyed her summer home at Balmy Beach, Auction Sales, Furniture refinishing, knitting, woodworking, baking, reading but most of all her family. She took an active part in the United Church, Garden Club and Tri-Lake Health Centre Auxiliary. Mom spent hours baking cookies packaging them, or putting gladiolas in vases to go visit many neighbor homes, those in Lakeview Gardens or Bayside Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her husband Hugh Lamont; her brothers, Robert and Clifford. Survived by: Tom (Betty) and Jim (Susan) Grandchildren, Rob (Andrea) Jason (Desi) Paul, (Taryn) and Sherri (Mark) plus 5 Great Grandchildren; sister Catherine and sisters in laws Adeline and Verda. Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 25, 2014, Killarney United Church, Killarney, Manitoba at 2:00 p.m. A Private Interment will be held at the Killarney Cemetery, Killarney, Manitoba.
