McMANUS: It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Clifford Neil McManus, on April 1,2014, at Minnedosa Personal Care Home. Cliff was born at Shergrove, MB, August 9, 1921. He was 3rd youngest in a family of 11, and received his education at Cameron School. In the fall of 1942, he joined the R.C.A.F. and following his training in MB, SK and Quebec, he was than posted to England. Their crew flew 31 trips and considered themselves very lucky to finish their missions and return home.. In July 1950, Cliff married Muriel Stitt, of Foxwarren. They farmed south of Basswood raising a family of three boys and five girls. After they retired to Minnedosa in the fall of 1989, they enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Alaska, Nova Scotia and Gabriola Island. They also attended an Air Force reunion in England. Cliff was predeceased by parents, William & Edla McManus, sisters: Teany (Bill) Hood, Kathleen (George) Pollon, Irene (Harvey) Glawson, and Pearl (Stewart) Kille, and brothers: Reuben, Carl, Earl, Norval (Mary), J. Oscar (Ruby) and Henry and great-granddaughter Ruby. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Muriel, Bob and Karen, Judy, Allan, Catherine, Nancy and Randy (Smith), Joyce, Dale and Diana, Eva and Brad (Graham), eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Marion McManus. Donations in Cliff's memory may be made to the Patio Fund at the Minnedosa Personal Care Home. Minnedosa Funeral Services were in charge of the arrangements.
