GAMBLE: W.E. (Ted) Gamble. March 18, 1917-May 18, 2014. Ted Gamble passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on May 18, 2014. He is mourned by son Norman (Chris), grandson Travis (Elissa) and granddaughter Taaiba (Ridwaan) and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving Ted are brothers Len and George, sister Evelyn and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by wife Kay (Wyatt), parents Harold and Lucy (Stevenson), brothers Milton, Stanley, Doug and sister Frances. Ted was born in Grenfell, Saskatchewan on March 18, 1917 to parents Harold and Lucy Gamble. The Gambles farmed near Broadview, Saskatchewan, where they were encouraged by their parents to play sports and enjoy music. It was there that he met the love of his life, Catherine (Kay) Wyatt. They were married on May 4, 1942, and moved into Broadview where Ted worked for CPR until he retired in 1979. They moved to Percy Street in Brandon in 1952, where he enjoyed his yard and garden. He made a huge effort to encourage son Norman to play sports and enjoy music, and managed to keep Norm's cars and motorcycles running. He was devoted to his son, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved to go out for supper with family. Ted and Kay enjoyed travelling and spent some great winters in Hawaii. After Kay's passing in 1999, Ted moved near son Norman, where he continued his interest in yard work and could be seen on the block with his walker. There will be a private family graveside memorial service in the summer. Flowers are gratefully declined. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com.
