KAASGAARD: Kristen Magnus "Kris" Kaasgaard, beloved husband of Ruby, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, May 19, 2014. Kris was born at Lemvig, Denmark on March 19, 1933. He attended school in Denmark followed by two years of military service. He moved to Canada in 1958 arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax and then travelled to Vancouver, later moving to Belleview, Manitoba and then to Brandon. His life work consisted of cattle and hay farming. Kris belonged to the Manitoba Flying Farmers, 12th Manitoba Dragoons, Pipestone United Church, Square Dancing Club and the Reston Ramblers. He was a dedicated husband and father. Kris is survived by his loving wife, Ruby; daughter, Glenda (Murray) Garden, their children Andrea (Sean) Speirs, Ethan; Erin (Dale) Seafoot, Mardigan; daughter, Roseanne Gallinger, her children, Stephen (Elaina) Hartley, Josephine; Scott Ho; son, Christopher (Lindsey) Gallinger, their children, Beth Gallinger Pozzolo and Jared Gallinger; son, Shaun (Tina) Gallinger, their children Joshua and Olivia; son, Erik Kaasgaard, his daughter, Megan; daughter, Rachelle (Paul) Pulak. Kris is also survived by sisters-in-law Louise Croft, Janet Berry, brother- in-law Barrington Berry and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Christian and Magdalene; Kris was one of nine children: Niels Peter, Bolette, Helge Emil, Anna Maria, Henning, Ole, Jens and Grethe; brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law, Albert and Eileen Berry, Robert (Roberta) Berry, Leone and Bill Lane, Joyce and Stuart Fitzpatrick and Al Croft. The Ceremony to Celebrate Kris' Life was held at Central United Church on Friday, May 23, 2014. Rev. John Lea officiated. Interment was at Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
