FRASER: In Loving Memory of Macky Fraser. Ann Margaret (Macky) Fraser (nee Marsh), the beloved wife of Bruce Fraser, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24th, 2014 at the age of 81 years at the Charleswood Personal Care Home, in Winnipeg after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Macky was born July 30, 1932 in Stratton, Ontario to Christine and Hugh McMillan the 12th of 14 children. Macky was adopted by Ann and Stanley Marsh of Fort Frances, Ontario after her Birthmother, Christine passed away in 1936. Macky lived in Fort Frances Ontario where she graduated from High School before moving to Winnipeg to work. While working in Winnipeg Macky met Bruce Fraser and the two were married in 1959. They started their family in Winnipeg before moving to Portage La Prairie in 1963. Together, Macky and Bruce raised six children in Portage and Brandon. Macky resided in Brandon until April of 2014 before moving to Winnipeg shortly before her passing. Macky was a very devoted wife and mother who kept very busy raising six children. Macky’s love and passion was the cabin at Delta Beach north of Portage on Lake Manitoba. She loved to spend her summers there with the kids and into her later years. Macky is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Bruce Fraser and daughter Janet Fraser. Macky is survived by her children Jane (Don) MacDonald of Winnipeg, Ian (Wendy) Fraser of Brandon, Jean (Ryan) McDonald of Brookdale, and Hugh (Bev) Fraser of Douglas, Donald Fraser along with grandchildren Heidi, Adam, Tylor, Travis, Tanner, Scott, Maeghan, Brooke, Alyssa, Sarah and great grandson Bruce. Also surviving Macky are son-in-law Glen Kruck, brothers Austin and Rocky and Sisters Olive and Gretta. Macky’s memorial was held at daughter Jane’s home with her family in attendance.
