LAM: Jack (Yee-Lay) Lam April 21, 1941 to May 30, 2014.It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Jack. Professor, mentor, friend and father, Jack's life passion lay in teaching his students, who he mentored long after they "passed" his Socratic teaching methods. He was both inspiring as a teacher and encouraging as a friend. He devoted his life's work to academic research, setting the standard for everyone whose lives he touched. For his closest friends and family, Jack was an avid fisherman with a lively wit and an unforgettable laugh. He adored his wife (Euphemia Shui-Yee), and his two daughters (Karen and Vicki). He will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, scholarship funds will be set up at his beloved universities: Brandon University, where he taught for most of his career, as well as universities in Taiwan and Hong Kong. A celebration of his life will be held in Vancouver this July 2014. For more information, please email: karen.wy.lam@gmail.com
