ANDRUSZKIW: Bernice Lorraine (nee Jones). July 8, 1924 June 19, 2014. Bernice Andruszkiw, beloved wife of Walter, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014 just 2 1/2 weeks shy of her 90th birthday. Born in Neepawa, MB and raised on the family farm near Brookdale, MB, Bernice worked in Neepawa as a cashier at Tomboy, then as a telephone operator for MTS where she met and later married Wally Andruszkiw. With Wally at her side, she honed her skills in bowling, curling and golf. From their first home in Neepawa, they moved to Thompson and then Brandon. Following Wallys retirement in 1984 they travelled across Canada and the US with their 5th wheel. In 2004 they settled back in Brandon where Bernice earned bragging rights with a hole-in-one at the local golf course! They continued to travel seeing more of the world going on four cruises even riding a camel at the pyramids in Egypt at the age of 85! 2010 found them moving to Airdrie, AB to be closer to their kids and grandkids. Nothing lit up her face like having family drop in and hugs from the kids! Bernice will be sadly missed by her husband Wally; daughters, Donna (Merle) Gouldie and Janice (Mark) Proctor; sisters, Eileen Wilson and Shirley (Lloyd) Reidle; sister-in-law Olga (John) Barchuk; and her loving grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Bernice was predeceased by her parents Tom and Hilda Jones; sisters, Vivian (Fred) North and Dorothy (Lloyd) Cole. A private celebration of her life will take place in Calgary on June 29.
