MOOREHEAD: Phyllis Mary Moorehead, formerly of Douglas, Manitoba, passed away at Hillcrest Place on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Phyllis was born at St. Andrews, Manitoba on March 1, 1921 to Henry and Edith McBeth. She lived there until 1938 when the family moved to Ingelow, Manitoba. She worked for various farm families in the area. While working for Margaret Moorehead, she met John and they were married on October 26, 1941. Phyllis also worked at Carnation in Carberry and Madders Store in Douglas through her lifetime. She was a member of the Women's Institute, Douglas Hall Committee, and Derry Group. Phyllis enjoyed knitting, quilting, gardening, watching curling and playing bingo. Phyllis is survived by her sons Raymond (Sherry), Barry, Richard (Dianne), Fred (Gloria), Bill (Elsie), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Betty Clements, Nancy Shillington, and sister- in-law Margaret McBeth. She was predeceased by her husband John, brothers Bill and Dick, brothers-in-law Ken Clements and Ivan Shillington. A Graveside Service was held at the Madford Cemetery on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 followed by a Celebration of Phyllis' Life at Memories Chapel with Rev. Barbara Jardine officiating. Pallbearers were Brad Moorehead, Troy Moorehead, David McBeth, Jason Moorehead, Dwayne Moorehead, and Alan Muirhead.
