BUCHANAN: Doris Irene Buchanan passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Doris is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Lorne; children, Ron (Holly), Gordon, Brent (Brenda), Brian (Debbie), Sharon (Ken), 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings Grace Blair, Phyllis Walker, Angus and Lorrie Sneesby, and Gerald and Jackie Sneesby; sisters-in-law Jean Sneesby, Elma Sneesby, Elizabeth Sneesby, and Grace Buchanan; brother -in-law Hans Andersen as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings Charles, Bruce, Arthur, Argyle, Thelma Andersen, Barbara Kelly, Beatrice (in infancy) and Darlene (in infancy); brothers-in-law Mervyn Kelly, Keith Blair and Andy Buchanan. Doris was born at Neepawa, Manitoba on the first of November, 1929 to parents Albert and Jean Sneesby. She attended school at Arden and then went on to Success Business College to complete her office procedures training. Doris worked for many years as secretary at Neepawa Co-op until she became the title she loved to have as a mother. In 1953, she married Lorne Buchanan. Over the years they resided in Neepawa, Altona and in their retirement years at Manhattan Beach on Pelican Lake. In later years she lived at the Wawanesa Personal Care Home. She was a woman who was a constant, content, willing, encouraging, faithful and of highest character. The Ceremony to Celebrate Doris' Life was held at Calvary Temple, Brandon on Saturday, September 20, 2014 with Rev. Dennis Schram officiating. Interment took place at the Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa, Manitoba. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Doris to the Manhattan Beach Retreat Centre, P.O.
