CAMPBELL: Tory Albert. March 26, 1993 - January 31, 2015. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our son and brother, Tory, at the age of 21 years. Tory was born at Brandon General Hospital, a very special 3rd birthday gift for his brother Jordan. Tory lived his life on an acreage outside of Brandon, where he enjoyed many hours of freedom, from building forts, riding bikes, golf carts, skidoos and tractors, to helping out with the chores of country living! Tory attended Fleming, Earl Oxford and Crocus Plains graduating in 2011. While attending high school he had the opportunity to travel to Chicago with the Crocus Plains hockey team and also to Italy and Greece with the Design and Drafting program at Crocus. It was in Italy that Tory celebrated his 18th birthday. He continued his education at ACC and graduated in 2014 with a diploma in Civil Technology specializing in Municipal Engineering. He was employed with the City of Brandon Engineering Dept. during the summers while attending school and remained employed with them until his passing. Tory played many sports: soccer, golf, field hockey and racquet ball, but his love was hockey. He played minor hockey all through his school years and the family all made some wonderful friends. Tory was honoured to have received the Ken Klassen Memorial award in 2011 from Hockey Brandon. He played with his brothers and friends in summer hockey leagues and also recently joined his friends in a fun recreation league. Tory was a true and dedicated Toronto Maple Leafs fan from an early age! He was able to go and watch the Leafs play in Winnipeg a few times with the most recent being in January. He had the opportunity to meet Ron MacLean just prior to his passing, where he told Tory to keep the faith as he was wearing his Leafs hat! Tory had his picture taken and obtained autographs for himself and his brothers. Another great source of joy for Tory, was his car, like his bedroom, it had Maple Leaf mementos everywhere! Tory enjoyed spending many years at the family cabin at Ditch Lake, where he recently purchased a place of his own. Many family memories were made at the lake where he learned how to walk, ski, drive a boat, and enjoyed tubing with his brothers, friends and family. We travelled as a family to Nova Scotia, Disney World, and Mexico where we all experienced ziplining and swimming through caves. We also travelled to Banff where Tory had the chance to ski in the mountains. There were also many trips around the province and beyond with all the boys for the game of hockey! A time that his dad holds precious, are the fly-in fishing trips to Bamaji Lake. Tory enjoyed spending time with friends at the lake, having them out to our family home for bonfires and going to Countryfest where he saw Luke Bryan perform. He was a huge fan! Tory was a gentle and kind friend to many with a "heart of gold", so it is unfortunate that his heart failed him, taking Tory from us much too soon. Left to cherish his memory are his parents Ken and Teresa, brothers Jordan (Rhyleigh) and Layne (Keirra). He is also survived by his grandparents Ron Telford and Bonnie Alderson of Portage, Bonnie Wark and Bob Mowbray and Audrey Campbell, all of Brandon, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Tory was predeceased by his great grandparents, Albert Wark, and the ones that were fortunate to have been part of his life, Tom and Audrey Telford and Doris Wark. He was also predeceased by his grandpa Colin Campbell. A Ceremony to Celebrate Tory's life was held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Central United Church with Mr. Mike Waddell officiating. The urn bearer was Tory's Mom, carrying him out to his waiting car, for one final ride with his brothers. If friends so desire, donations in Tory's memory may be made to Westman Dreams for Kids, Unit 2-37-11th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 4J2 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 3 - 824 - 18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 5B7 or to a special charity of one's choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 204-727-0330."What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose.
