Mona FRANKLIN

FRANKLIN: Mona Ellen Jean, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus at her residence on April 12, 2015. Mona was born the fourth child and only daughter of Walter and Margaret Franklin of the North Brandon District. She attended Powerville, a one room schoolhouse, for her elementary education. Following her schooling she worked as a secretary at the Brandon Land Titles office, London Life Insurance, the Brandon Mental Health Centre and CKX and CKLQ. She was also a Deaconess at Bethel Temple. Her greatest love and deepest passion however was as a Pastoral Care Associate at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. She spent many hours providing comfort and solace to generations of families as well as to the hospital staff. Her beautiful God given singing voice was heard by many at churches, weddings and funerals. Mona was predeceased by her parents, one niece Shelley Franklin and brothers Keith (Betty), Raymond (Muriel) and Garth (Edith). She is survived by her chosen sister Norrine Shobrooke; nephews and nieces: Dr. Gordon (Joy) Franklin, Evelyn Franklin, Larry (Shelley) Franklin, Linda (Gordon) Duncan, Sandra (Floyd) Phillips, Wendy (Gordon) Brown and cousins Lloyd (Elsie) Franklin and Alvin Franklin. A special thank you to Daughter's On Call for their compassion, care and service over the past two weeks, Dr. Visser and all who called, visited and brought food. A Celebration of Mona's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Margaret Gibb officiating. A private interment will take place at the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
