WALLACE: Now at peace and reunited with her beloved husband and family, Dorothy "Jean" Wallace (nee Cameron) passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Valleyview Care Centre, at the age of 101 years. Born December 10, 1913 in Nesbitt, Manitoba, the second daughter of William & Bessie Cameron, Jean attended school in Nesbitt and Brandon Collegiate. While working in Harrison’s General Store in Wawanesa, she met and married James Beverley Wallace in 1939. They farmed north of town for 11 years and then moved into Brandon in 1950, where she worked at Doig’s and The Brandon Clinic. She always enjoyed volunteer work with Red Cross and Brandon General Hospital. Jean was a faithful member of St. Pauls/Central United Church. She was a long time member of Hope Rebekah Lodge #28 receiving a 50 year jewel and a member of Eastern Star. She and Bev enjoyed extensive travel across Canada, USA, Hawaii, Scotland, England & Spain. Curling and dancing were a great part of their lives. The highlight was going to the Johnny Walker Highland International Curling in Aviemore, Scotland in l972 & 1974. They attended many Briers. Jean was predeceased by her husband Bev in 1997, her Mother and Father, four brothers Mac (Gladys), Doug, Rollie & Jim (Jean), two sisters Marion (Cam) Powers and Marg (Doug) Simpson. She is survived by son Dennis (Colleen) of Vernon BC, daughter Val Kitzul of Whitewood SK, three grandchildren Nickie (Paul) Fuller, Dena (Sheldon) Lee, Kevin (Theresa) Kitzul, four great grandchildren Brittney & Ronald Lee, Joshua Kitzul, Waylon Keeler, Nicholas Fuller and sisters-in-law Marj Cameron and Gladys Cameron plus many nieces & nephews. The Ceremony to Celebrate Jean's Life will take place at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ken Delisle of Central United Church officiating. Reception at Memories Chapel. Interment will be at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
