FERGUSON: Brenda Joy Ferguson (nee Bergsteinson) November 25, 1957 June 16, 2015. After a lengthy illness, Brenda Joy Ferguson passed away in a room filled with love, on June 16, 2015. Brenda was born in Regina, SK on November 25, 1957, to Norman and Reta Bergsteinson. She grew up in Foxwarren, MB until the family moved to Brandon when she was 13. Brenda graduated from Neelin High School and then went on to Assiniboine Community College where she graduated with her Licensed Practical Nursing. She worked at the Brandon General Hospital, for a year, before moving to Regina, where she worked at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for 11 years. Following a move to Maple Ridge, BC, she worked at the Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody for three years. After having homes in Calgary and Airdrie, AB, Brenda spent the final 10 years of her life in Regina. Brenda was a kind and generous soul. She loved her nursing profession and spent many years giving exceptional care to her patients. She went above and beyond to spread love and joy to those around her. A beautiful light has gone out and heaven has gained an extraordinary angel. Brenda was married for 25 years to Neil Ferguson before they parted ways. She is predeceased by her parents Norman and Reta Bergsteinson. She is survived by her siblings: Donna (Kelly) Chapman, of Airdrie, and Don (Patty) Bergsteinson of Regina; nieces and nephews: Kara (Wendell) Chatwood, Alex Chapman, Samantha Bergsteinson, and Tyler Bergsteinson; and great nieces and nephews: Madison, Cristianna, and Jaxon Chatwood. She is also survived by her best friends Shannon and Dan Goldstone and by the light of her life, her faithful puppy Rascal. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caring staff of the Regina General and Pasqua Hospitals, and Main Five and Main Six of the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, where she lived for the last few years. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015, in the Chapel at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, 2180 23rd Avenue, Regina, SK. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Brendas memory may be made to the Regina Humane Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
