GORDON: The death of Pearl "Marie" Gordon, age 88 years, beloved mother of Mardal Flynn (Nick Panko), Marilee (Ain) Suurkivi and Randy Gordon (Barbara McCaig) occurred at the Sunnyside Manor, Birtle Health Centre, Birtle, Manitoba on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Marie is survived by her three children, two brothers Doug (Myrna) Graham, Bert (Joyce) Graham, and one sister Ruby (Don) Breakey, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband (J. D. Jack Gordon) and parents, Melvin and Gertrude Graham. Marie enjoyed a lengthy career as a hairdresser and in later years, as a home care aide. She spent many years residing in Birtle before moving to Brandon where she led an active life in Lions Manor. Her final home was in Sunnyside Manor in Birtle. Marie enjoyed membership in Eastern Star, Central and Birtle United Churches, and as a Lioness. She loved curling, golf, and a good game of cards. While in Lions Manor, she was an active volunteer in many of that communitys activities. She was especially known for her unique style of giving whether it be baking, sharing her time, or helping someone in need. The Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance took place at the Birtle United Church on Friday, June 19, 2015 with Linda Clark officiating.
